Gas Monkey Garage Raffling Bullrun Rally Car!
Back in 2008, Bullrun veterans, Richard Rawlings and Aaron Kauffman, brought a car on Bullrun that brought a whole new meaning to the term ‘sleeper.’
The puke green 1976 Chevy Caprice that we saw roll up to the Hotel Arts in Calgary was immedietly dismissed as a competitor, but then Richard revved the engine. Bullrunners and fans alike couldn’t pick their jaws off the pavement when they learned what Rawlings and Kauffman pulled off. The Caprice is by no means a muscle car, but that didn’t stop the Gas Monkeys from swapping out the motor with a 6.0L LQ9 motor out of a Cadillac Escalade.
They also outfitted the car with 9-inch rear-end 4-wheel disc-braked and a 460LD transmission. Then there’s the loud-as-hell exhaust and the even louder train horn. Of course, with this being a rally car, it has a CB radio, CB antenna and plenty of other rally accessories.

Gas Monkey Garage Raffles Off Rally Car to Raises Money for Non-Profit
—Proceeds from the rally car raffle will benefit Sharkarosa Wildlife Ranch—
(Dallas, Texas)—July 15, 2013—Gas Monkey Garage, a Dallas auto restoration shop featured on a hit reality TV show, partnered with Sharkarosa Wildlife Ranch to raffle off a ’76 Caprice. Sharkarosa is an educational park in Denton County, Texas, that is home to more than 100 exotic animals. Raffle tickets are $5 and proceeds will go toward improving Sharkarosa’s programs, projects and care of exotic animals.
The car up for grabs is a ’76 Chevy Caprice that Gas Monkey Garage’s Richard Rawlings and Aaron Kaufman built and raced in the Gumball 3000 and the Bullrun. Raffle tickets are $5 and can be purchased at www.gmgraffle.com
