BULLRUN 2013: TEAM ROLLING 7 PLANS DEVIOUS BULLRUN JOURNEY!

ou see it fast approaching from behind, it looks absolutely evil! The red glowing headlights fast-approaching, the matte black paint giving off that sinister look. But team R7 won’t be in the rear-view for long!

Shaun Patrick and Brandon Michael may not be set on winning the Navigator Award, but they’ll be doing the rally in style and will be hitting huge on the pranking radar!

Shaun first learned about Bullrun back in 2006 when his friend Jared Reicke of Team Reicke first joined the rally in 2006 and told Shaun all about it.

Last year, Shaun decided it was time to get his feet wet and do his first rally. He had a co-driver and a car all lined up, but then things changed last-minute.

“Unfortunately my teammate was not able to leave his business last minute so I was stuck without a car only two days before the Rally,” Shaun said. “But Ricky and Billy took me in as though I was a red-headed step child that could do amazing navigation while hangover in the back seat.”

ven though his first Bullrun didn’t go exactly how he hoped, it ended up being the experience that got him hooked.

“My overall excitement lies in the fact that this Bullrun is not a rally it is a lifestyle – one that my friends and I live day-to-day, year-to-year,” he continued. “Sure it’s nice for everyone to get together and party like rock stars, but we do that every weekend. We just believe in charity and contributing our ‘work hard, play hard’ mentality to seven states in seven days.”

This year, Shaun will be driving his own car, a matte black Infinity G37 with a custom lighting kit that gives the car a very sinister look – one that’s perfect for Bullrun! In terms of modifications to the car, Shaun said: “That is always the secret of Bullrun isn’t it? What I can say is that it is matte black from wheels to roof, and decked out with Oracle Lighting.  As for mods and equipment we will leave that for the Rally.”

For a teammate, Shaun has chosen his good friend Brandon, who has plenty of racing experience under his belt.

“Brandon has years of racing experience from NASCAR, professional dirtbike, buggy racing , 4-wheel racing, I mean basically racing anything with wheels since he has been in diapers,” Shaun said. “He won his first national championship at 3-years-old.  So to say we have experience is an understatement!”

That’s exactly what the team is counting on. They’ve got the experience and they’ve got the Bullrun attitude. They’re ready for an adventure, but watch out because it already sounds like they’re going to be taking the place of the Wu’s in terms of pranking.

“According to Andy Duncan, I have a serious shopping problem, but I have been purchasing everything from gerbils to shoes since about five months ago… so be warned,” he said. “We have also stepped up our drinking every night and been waking up at the crack of dawn! WHEELS UP!”

But with close allies in the form of Team Big Easy Banditz and Team Nola Bangers, Shaun already knows a thing or two about his competition.

“Dudley Geigerman is my bodyguard, Bobby is only riding with him to control Dudley’s beast inside,” Shaun said. “He can bench-press a small house!  Ricky Chancey is not to be trusted. If he obtains one more magic skull ring he will become more powerful than Richard Rawlings. He also had a vision from the gods and bought 9 identical cars.  He has left these at strategic locations and will be taking a private jet to each check point.  As for Billy Blatty, his strength and knowledge is in his pony tail…. cut it and he will lose his edge. But out of all my guys, Jay Rickie is still the one to watch out for! He’s taking it back old-school bringing his car from 2006. He might be poor, but he makes up with it with pure will power and strategy!”

In terms of advice for the rookies, Shaun keeps it simple: “Have fun and be Cocky! That way I know who to prank!”

Q&A with Shaun Patrick:

1.       How did you begin your Bullrun adventure? How’d you decide to do your first Bullrun rally?

I heard about Bullrun in 2006 from my friend Jay Rieckie and eventually became engulfed, becoming the web-designer of Bullrun.com for the last four years.

2.       You rode along with Ricky and Billy last year and got your first taste of the Bullrun life. What excites you about Bullrun so much that brings you back again this year?

Yes that was a sweet ride. Unfortunately my teammate was not able to leave his business last minute so I was stuck without a car only two days before the Rally. But Ricky and Billy took me in as though I was a red-headed step child that could do amazing navigation while hangover in the back seat.  My overall excitement lies in the fact that Bullrun is not a rally it is a lifestyle – one that my friends and I live day-to-day, year-to-year. Sure it’s nice for everyone to get together and party like rock stars, but we do that every weekend. We just believe in charity and contributing our ‘work hard, play hard’ mentality to seven states in seven days.

3.       Tell me about the plan for this year. You’re driving your wicked G37. Who’s your teammate? What’s the team name?

Our team number is #22 and name is “R7,” after R7 Designs. Follow us:  https://www.facebook.com/rolling7bullrun. My Team Mate is Brandon Michael.  Brandon has years of racing experience from NASCAR, professional dirtbike, buggy racing , 4-wheel racing, I mean basically racing anything with wheels since he has been in diapers. He won his first national championship at 3-years-old.  So to say we have experience is an understatement!

4.    Last year it looked like you had a blast on the rally! What’s your most memorable Bullrun moment?

My most memorable moment has to be partying a little too hard and having David Green water-board me with Grey Goose. Also riding with team Karma as they made me !@#% my pants going around that mountain. Wait, did we forget Fresno???

5.    Tell me about some of the mods you’ve done to that evil looking G37.

Well that is always the secret of Bullrun isn’t it? What I can say is that it is Matte Black from wheels to roof, and decked out with Oracle Lighting.  As for mods and equipment we will leave that for the Rally.

6.     Now you’re from New Orleans and you’re friends with both Team Big Easy Banditz and Team Nola Bangers. With those two powerhouses as allies, what sort of information do you now have that could help you this year?

Well I know everything Duhhhhh! It kind of helps when you know everyone’s secrets, but seriously let’s just say they are lucky because I want the Spirit of the Bullrun Award! We plan to party hard and prank large!

7.     What do you consider to be your team’s strongest asset this year?

It would have to be my overall tech ability, planning ahead, and Brandon’s racing experience.

8.        What does your rally preparation involve for the rally?

According to Andy Duncan, I have a serious shopping problem, but I have been purchasing everything from gerbils to shoes since about five months ago… so be warned!  We have also stepped up our drinking every night and been waking up at the crack of dawn! WHEELS UP!

9.     If you could give the Bullrun newbies some advice, what would it be?

Have fun and be Cocky! That way I know who to prank…. Also know my team and know them well: Dudley Geigerman is my bodyguard, Bobby is only riding with him to control Dudley’s beast inside. He can bench-press a small house!  Ricky Chancey is not to be trusted. If he obtains one more magic skull ring, he will become more powerful than Richard Rawlings. He might be poor, but he makes up with it with pure will power and strategy!

10.    What are you doing differently to outwit the other teams this year?

It is called XO Patron and out drinking you under the table….. No sleep…. and our theme song!!!
