About:
Mission Statement:
Our team mission is to bring awareness to the plight of the manual transmission. This often misunderstood transmission has intimidated those who do not appreciate the three pedal dance. Hence the manual transmission has been fast overrun by automatics and flappy paddle gearboxes and may one day become a thing of the past. I know that I don’t speak for everyone, but I don’t care how fast it shifts, how many forward gears it has, or that it perfectly rev matches downshifts every time. The fact remains that it is still an automatic and is thus devoid of any real driving enjoyment and satisfaction. I personally am unable to shift gears in milliseconds, or perfectly heal and toe every downshift every time. But when I crack off lightning quick shifts and nail my downshifts, a euphoric sense of joy and accomplishment overwhelms me. I feel a direct link from my brain to the soul of the car, as if we are talking to each other in a language all our own. This is what driving enjoyment and satisfaction is to me. So it doesn’t matter how technologically advanced an automatic is, it will always play the mediator between my soul and the soul of the car. If the manual transmission does go by the wayside, just imagine the joys and connections to driving that will be lost forever. So if you are stuck between deciding which transmission to have in your vehicle, do the right thing and put a clutch pedal in your driving repertoir. It may keep the joys of the manual transmission around for future generations.
