Name: David Swanson Location: Wichita, KS 67101 Gender: Male Age: 32 Occupation: Aerospace Engineer - Aerodynamics
About:
I'm married with no children, which means, as long as I can get permission from Mrs. Boss, I have money to spend on cars. I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, went to school in Daytona Beach, FL before moving to Wichita in 2000 for work. Here I met my wife, built my house, and settled down. So, I guess Wichita is home now. I just don't have that annoying Kansas accent. I like to attempt new things. Such as playing my Gretsch Power Jet, becoming an Instrument Rated Private Pilot, SCUBA diving, skiing, playing softball in the summers, reading novels, acting in community theatre, doing improv with the youth at my church. Did I mention I also love watching Bullrun on SPEED? *Brownie points* I guess you could say that I became a car guy late in life. My Dad told me that he always saw cars as a way to get from point A to point B. Thanks Dad. So as you can imagine, there was no passion there to be handed down so I acquired it in other ways, i.e. through friends and my own curiosity. In the last five or ten years, I've really been realizing how much I love high performance cars. It's a passion that's coming somewhat later in life, but one that I'm embracing with open arms, and my wallet. I'd love to be on Bullrun. I'm not a knucklehead like some of the teams I've seen on there. But I am sarcastic and snarky, so I'm sure I'd make a few enemies.
Mission Statement:
Our mission is to win Bullrun Season III while providing entertainment for the viewers. Secondary objectives are to not do bodily harm to ourselves or others, be able to drive the MINI at the end of the show, and to make new friends (and enemies) along the way.
About My Team:
David Swanson is an aerospace engineer for a major aircraft manufacturer in Wichita, KS. He has a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering and works as a Wind Tunnel Test Engineer. When he's not analyzing aircraft aerodynamics, he's designing airplanes, flying, driving his MINI in the upcoming SCCA season, playing jazz guitar, or teaching drama to high schoolers at his church. Brandon Cangiano is also an aerospace engineer for a major aerospace company in Mojave, CA. He has a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering and works as a project engineer at his company. He's the gear head between the two, having rebuilt several engines in his home shop (complete with hydraulic lift), and building and flying his Lancair Legacy, a 250 knot speed demon. He's a composites guru and has the innate ability to repair vehicles quickly. He also drives a MINI in addition to his Toyota Celica daily driver. Our friendship started in 1995 at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where we were both studying to become aerospace engineers. In 1996, we road tripped from Daytona to Taos, NM in Brandon's Acura Integra. Four days of driving for four days of skiing. After then it was SCUBA diving trips to the keys, rocket projects, experiements for NASA (see above), and then adventures out in his home state of California.

My Biggest Strength:
Brandon and I are both quick thinkers who have been involved with a number of highly rewarding projects that most people only dream about. Whether it was applying for and participating in NASAs' Reduced Gravity Student Flight Opportunities Program to fly weightless about their KC-135, coaching other zero-g flyers onboard Zero-G Corp's 727, or building Brandon's homebuilt airplane, a Lancair Legacy, we've tackled projects much bigger than ourselves and always managed to come out on top. We're both witty and likable, and that doesn't hurt either.
