Name: Mike Dodd
Location: Pullman, WA 99163
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Occupation: MBA Student. Go Cougs!

About:

Just a hard working, high-tech redneck. Involved with many different motor sports, including 1/4 mile races and building custom off-road vehicles. First vehicle was a 1966 Ford Bronco, which started out as bone stock as the day it rolled off the assembly line. I started turning wrenches on it when I was 16, and have modified everything from the suspension to drive train and body. Picked up the Dodge as a tow vehicle, and began with simple modifications to help it tow better and improve the fuel mileage. The truck is the new play toy, and everyone I meet is shocked at how much power a simple old diesel pickup can make. The family nick-named it "the race truck," and it gets most of my time. My better half Sarah enjoys most of the motor sports with me, but it will be my brother Tyler reading the maps if we are selected. He is an ASE certified mechanic, and has also always been into building and modifying vehicles.

Mission Statement:

To show what an 8000 pound four wheel drive "farm truck" can do to these so called sports cars.

About My Team:

Brothers from Idaho, although I'm currently trapped in the Peoples Republic of Washington State. We work at the same dealership, and have always been into cars. We have built my 1966 Ford Bronco together, along with our step-dad's 1969 Ford Bronco, and Tyler's 1969 Chevelle Malibu. Always into motor sports, including the annual Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Ut, and drag racing at Spokane, Wa. Everything we own is driven like it's stolen, and we are true car guys that can fix any issues we may come across while on Bullrun. The "race truck"  is perfect for bullrun, and either of us would melt the bastard down before we would lose a race or challenge.

And yea imma get it lifted sooner or later.
Just working alot lately so havent had time.
By Escalade007, 06/03/09 - 8:40

Your truck is sick. In the good way.
By jonnyb, 06/03/09 - 0:13

Thanks man. I know for sure it was in Germany, and in NJ in the National Guard, both times as a radio truck. It had the jump seats in the back at some point, so I'm thinkin it's last duty was as a troop transport truck. Only had 36,000 miles on it when I got it, so it wasn't used much, even in the military.

Lovin your truck as well man. If my engine ever goes, you better belive a 12 Valve Cummins from a Dodge Ram will find it's way into my truck.
By REBELoffaLEASH, 06/02/09 - 11:31

might need you to hook my buddy up with that tune. hes down in Georgia. has an 05 cummins Quad cab Ram.
By Dub Motor Tuning, 05/28/09 - 10:57

Now that is a cool truck, good luck.
By S2K Guy, 05/22/09 - 23:03

Yea. I am not sure that the Greek scene is right for me. So they didn't like the big cummins turbo diesel in the politics of the environment class? lol I am sure some of my ideas will spark up some controversy as well. Was your class pretty politcally diverse?
By Team_Foxbody, 05/18/09 - 18:43

I thank im working on one
By becca73, 05/18/09 - 17:05

Ya it seemed like an excellent school. How did you like the political science classes? I actually was thinking of taking a political sci class for an elective (if the offer it for engineers). I've always been into politics so that would be right up my alley.
So out of curiousity, were you part of a fraternity? I am trying to get into an LLC but I have heard that greek at UI is pretty awesome.
By Team_Foxbody, 05/16/09 - 0:28

Hell ya! Go Vandals!!! So what did you study at UI?
By Team_Foxbody, 05/15/09 - 15:36

When it's BSU vs. ISU I root for Idaho. I hate all the hype surrounding BSU. Hope to see you on the show! I like your truck, that body style has to be my favorite.
By TiteBox, 05/15/09 - 10:52

By Chuckster, 05/08/09 - 16:25

yea, dude the sport trac is a beast.

only thing i really have left for my 4.0 is a supercharger

that will top the cake and help move the 4800lb trac alot faster
By SportTrac78, 05/07/09 - 12:19

Or is that the exhaust i smell? either way, smoke and speed are the only ways to do it!!
By dlunatic82, 05/07/09 - 9:48

Nice burnout!! thats the only way to take a pic!!
By dlunatic82, 05/07/09 - 9:46

By mr2lover, 05/06/09 - 16:03

My Ride:
Make: Dodge
Model: Ram 2500
Year: 2001
Color: Other
Engine Size: 359ci
HP/TQ: 431.83rwhp / 869.38rwtq last dyno run
Max Speed: +/- 120
0-60: Towing how much?
MPG: +/- 20

Team Setup:
Team: 6BT Dodge
My Role: Driver
My Team Member: Tyler Dodd

My Biggest Strength:

Range, power, and dependability. The truck can travel almost 600 miles on a single tank of good summer fuel, while making 392+/-rear wheel horse power. At the push of a button, I can up the power to 432+/- at the rear wheels and 869+/- foot-pounds of torque. No other changes are needed. The Cummins engine is as dependable and reliable as they come, with many logging several hundred thousand miles before basic repairs are needed. We won't blaze the quarter mile or set any land speed records, but it sure is entertaining to watch a manual transmission diesel row their way past a Mustang or Honda on the highway. We don't need to speed because we don't need to stop, and we can handle ourselves under pressure.
