2008 Calgary - Scottsdale

Bullrun once again started North of the border in Calgary. The usual suspects were present at the start in the centre of downtown Calgary. Rawlings brought a very unique 1973 Chevrolet Caprice with a fully-blown Cadillac Escalade motor and 22 inch rims, the Wu’s brought a 600+ horsepower Hummer H2 with a Duramax conversion and Claus brought a Techart GTStreet (Porsche 997.) In addition to the regulars, newcomers, Andre Betz and Larry Kosilla brought an Audi R8 dubbed ‘the Blackbird.’ The car was the most technologically advanced car we’ve ever seen. They even had military-grade equipment onboard to aide them in their police anti-countermeasures efforts. The rally, led by Team Spyker, led the rally South out of the city, heading to Big Sky, MT. The rally then made its way down the continental divide on arguably the most scenic roads we’ve ever driven. The rally stopped in Aspen, Park City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Tucson and ended in the party town of Scottsdale. Along the way, the rally stopped at the Miller Motorsports Park in Utah, Spring Mountain Motorsports Park, Firebird Raceway and a whole host of crazy Bullrun checkpoints. As the rally wound its way through the mountains, the drivers had the opportunity to take in some great scenery. A checkpoint at Harry O’s in Park City proved to be the ultimate Bullrun party. West Coast Customs served as a unique checkpoint where the Bullrunners had the opportunity to get their cars tuned and lubed up for the final days head. The Apache Trail in Arizona served as a great location for the drivers to experience the wilderness. In the end, it was Team Fortress, Adam and Wiji in the grey Audi R8 who proved to be navigationally superior, and took home the Navigator Award with competitive Claus forced to accept second place.
