2005 West Coast Loop

With 100 cars and one rock band's yellow school bus parked up outside the Kodak theatre, Hollywood Blvd turned into an impromptu motor show-come-dance party courtesy of DJ's from Sunset's famous Blowfish sushi. Notable drivers this year included Dennis Rodman, driving an immaculately custom painted Gallardo complete with his face on each door, Hayden Christensen, better known as Darth Vader from Star Wars driving a Saleen Mustang, James Hewitt - better known as Princess Diana's forbidden lover - paired with Ryan Dunn, from MTV`s “Jackass”, in a Cadillac Escalade, Richard Rawlings, driving a rusted 1931 Model A Ford Ratrod and Alex Roy and his Team Polizei, driving a supercharged Mercedes CL600. Maxim swimsuit cover girl, Joanna Krupa waved the green flag for the second annual Bullrun rally. The rally made its way around the Western United States, travelling on some of the most scenic roads and visiting some world famous landmarks such as the Grand Canyon and the Golden Gate Bridge. As usual, the rally visited some well-known racing circuits and some great destination cities that included: Las Vegas, Telluride, Salt Lake City, Reno, San Francisco and back to LA. Along the way, the rally visited the Bonnyville Salt Flats, giving the Bullrunners an opportunity to test the top speed of their cars. Dennis Rodman challenged Hayden Christiansen to a full on race to see whose ego was bigger. Hayden spun out and Rodman took home the victory. The Bullrun Navigator Award was given to Bullrun newcomers, Marek Harrison and Nigel Lord, driving an Aston Martin DB9. These two brits manages to outwit even Richard Rawlings, who fell short of the podium this year because his 1931 Model A Ford Rat rod failed him in almost every driving leg.

Spirit of the Bullrun Award

Team Gas Monkey - As if driving a Model A Ford Hot Rod wasn't enough, Richard Rawlins bribed a passing chopper at the Bonneville Salt Flats to take him to Reno..Richard got permission en route to land the chopper on a hotel roof and ran down the main street in Reno to the finish line of the checkpoint for first place that day...legend.

'Best Navigator' Award

1st: Team Britannia - Newcomers to the rally and driving an Aston Martin DB9, Marek Harrison and Nigel Lord were on point every day, no one even came close to their navigational expertise.

2nd: Team Texas - Ferrari 550 Maranello, Dennis Collins and James Collins. DC has done more rallies than you average Texan has drunk cans of Miller, ok maybe not but a legendary competitor. His brother gets a special mention too for managing to being arrested in Mexico one night during the rally, even though the rally didn't go to Mexico....

3rd: Team Polizei - Mercedes S Class, Alex Roy and Alli Joseph. What can you say about Alex (that he hasn't already told you himself)? A truly great competitor and raconteur, just remember to divide everything he says by about 1,000..and don't leave your girlfriend with him alone.
