BULLRUN 2 (SPEED): HIS NAME IS ELVIS STRANGE
Category: Automotive
In last weeks blog I gave you guys a little information about some of the teams I know on www.Bullrun.com . That is when I struck up a conversation with Team Strange who are driving in this years Bullrun on Speed. He said "he liked my write up on the other teams and was wondering if I had any questions about him." I didn't really know him so of course I did! I'm a Superfan and love everything Bullrun. So getting a chance to do this was a chance I wasn't going to take a pass on.
We both knew that there was things that he couldn't disclose and I wasn't going to ask. I did ask him to let me know a few things about him and his life. He was extremely forth coming with details. I looked him up at www.IMDb.com and on his myspace ( ELVIS STRANGE )page. Thats when I knew just what I was going to write about in this weeks blog. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it for you!

Elvis is about his tattoos, kinky sex jokes, Corvettes and Rock & Roll. Throw all of that in a LS1 Corvette, power brake until the tires blow and you have Elvis Strange.
He doesn't care about what you think reguarding his look and the sooner you come to terms with that fact, the sooner your going to get like him. He is a big guy with his platform shoes on and if you toss in his striking blonde hair it will give you an ominous first impression. Don't let his looks throw you off, he's a very nice outgoing guy. He just looks the evil rockstar (perfectly). Elvis is the showman and enjoys being in the L.A. music scene. He has been in bands for most of his adult life. I use that term "adult" loosely because he doesn't conform to the standard image of an adult, He's ELVIS! If he isn't at work your going to find him bang-in a drum or plucking an axe. I don't think your going to find him hanging out at a golf course unless its work related.
Elvis went to school at York College and received a BA in international marketing. After he graduated he went to work with his family but heard the call of California. Home of golden dreams so off he went and now is a Hollywood citizen.
Elvis now works in the entertainment industry full time. He works as a Production Designer or as a Art Director in Hollywood. Elvis has been doing this type of work since around 2000 and it takes up most of his spare time. He is a hard worker that soon endears himself to those that count on him to get a job done. In an industry that is filled with Corn flakes and bowls of green M&M's. He is able to do what is "needed" to get a task done on time and within his given budgets.
Here are a few of the projects that Elvis has had a hand in crafting. (Elvis sent this to me and was cool as hell so I just had to add it to this weeks blog! (Tanks Elvis).)

So why did Elvis want to enter into the world of Bullrun? The man is an axe swinger and magic maker in his everyday life, But. He found BULLRUN was a pure adrenaline, octane injected lifestyle. It was something that appealed to his own personal rockstar and his love of sick cars. Bullrun is for everyone who loves to escape into a car. It takes a special type of person to be able to play in a Bullrun sandbox (if you can pay the entry fee that is). That had an appeal to ELVIS and his co-driver (Steve). They tossed their names into the casting bucket and made it happen.

Elvis was getting to like what cars had to offer at a young age. He cut his teeth on a Chevelle at seventeen (still owns that car by the way). When his folks left him alone with the keys he would sneak a cruise in his parents 911 Porsche. I can only imagine the fun times he had explaining to his dad about the miles on his 911. I kinda picture him as a Spicoli and Ferris Buller all rolled into one. That Porsche was a fun car for him to drive, but what he really loved was the power of the American V8 and its tire ripping sounds. He spanked any old beater he could get his hands on. He really liked going Dukes of Hazard in dirt fields or back roads around his home. That carnage led him to a desire to drive the modern American muscle cars. (Vette's being his posion of choice today). Besides after learning how to handle a car doing that type of !@#$ Elvis isn't going to roll up in a Honda. It just wouldn't be Elvis.
Those younger days driving in his home town gave him the driving skills he is going to have to draw on in this season of Bullrun. I would even go as far as saying that he learned to look "OUT OF CONTROL" while being completely in control of the cars he drove. Elvis has rebuilt several cars one was a '54 Chrysler Imperial which he used as a daily driver before moving to the L.A. area.
The car he's driving in Bullrun is his second vette and he is hooked on the Chevy supercars even sports a tattoo on the subject. He will proudly show you it, if you ask nice.. He knows his LS1 Corvette and even if the car is mostly a stock (automatic). He has learned how to get every once of pleasure from it. I believe we are going to be able to see his pleasure of driving it on Speed this season.
Any guy that installs a "Lambo" door kit on his Corvette and throws you a standing eagle while speeding around a parking lot is going to be fun to watch. Unless of course your the Blue Blooded Corvette fan who's going to shake his head in horror at the sight of Elvis driving "their" car in a Bullrun event. Which I think might give Elvis a woody just knowing they are horrified.

I believe he is going to be the ultimate showman this season. He isn't afraid to tell you just who he is and why he's a real competitor. Bullrun is made for rockstars and Elvis is a guy that looks like a rockstar.
This Team understands what a camera likes and they are ready to have a good time. If I was leading the post production staff at Speed I would look to portray him as somewhat wild/fun type of guy and a competitor that plays it loose in the drivers seat.. He would always be pushing the other teams around him too try keep loose as well.
I would also bet he has a rockstars sex appeal that will endear him to the females on the race or offend them all together. He's looks like the bad boy their dad warned them about and he likes it. But, on the inside he's as cute and soft as kitten . This is something that might even get under the skin of few of the guys on and off the set! I would even go as far as saying he is going to be one of the fan favorites.... If Team Strange can stay in the game that long? Only time is going to tell because he isn't .
FEBRUARY 19th 2009 only on SPEED
Lets get it ON!
