Anyway, the point is, after last season you guys gotta shine! When we first talked to Goldberg when we were in L.A. he said to me "You got some pretty big shoes to fill" (referring to Team F-150 I assumed) and to be honest I didn't think about it the whole show or anything, but it helped me put my game face on. Just givem hell and make it look pretty for the camera.

I am fully prepared to be buying my dad's car from him when we are done, but the wicked part of this is that while I WILL toast the CRAP outta my car if need be, it's all about the driver, and if it runs on rubber, then he can thread a needle backwards with it. Least that way, I know that if my ride gets damaged, it ain't cuz we're a coupla tools what drive beyond our means! We got the car, we got the driver, we got the navigation, we got the mechanic.

When folks say "I built my this or that", most times it means they tweaked the engine, modified a fascia or two, added a wing or some custom paint...well, when I say that my driver Dave built the BRUTE, I'm talking from the gound up.  There are only a few original parts on this vehicle, and the rest are not something you find at your corner NAPA store. 

We aren't afraid of a little dent here or there...hell, the BRUTE has been off road more than it's been on road...and I'm not talking gravel roads off road, I'm talking rock crawlilng in MOAB, UT, and mudding in TN.  If we have to push things a little to win then that's what we're gonna do...and remember...chicks did BODY DAMAGE :)

I guarantee if there is another challenge like the one in season 2 where some dirt is involved (you know the one I'm talking about...the one where team AVALANCE nearly blew a tire), you aren't going to see us pussy footing through the course.  Unlike team AVALANCE, the BRUTE is a real truck and has 4 WHEEL DRIVE and we know how to use it! (no offense Bear, you drove the crap out of that 2WD Chevy).  If given the chance to be on season 3, team BRUTE will be more than entertaining!!

Most people built their rigs from the ground up in here, not many simple things goin on here.... I would say Civettes vehicle was much harder to build than the brute ;-)

No disrespect meant towards the Civette...just trying to emphasize the fact that the BRUTE was built not bought, and we're not afraid to repair or rebuild in the name of victory :)

 

thats why i dont want to see any "stock" cars on the show.....more interesting when they are soooo different

My truck has almost entirely bolt on power mods.  My goal for the show is something reliable but definately not stock. I'm doing a ground up build on a 69 bronco right now with all the bells and whistles and a ton of fab work but wouldn't want to run something like that on the show. Being broken down will severely handicap you on a show like this. Just my opinion.

There was a drag racing equipped civic on the 2008 Dustball rally, that was one heck of a car.

You use Lexus as an example, I'll use Avalanche as an example. I agree that custom rides are pretty cool to see on a show - nuthin brings drama like trying to find/install/tune a custom vehicle. But stock rides are also pretty cool - nuthin brings action like watching cars that are always performing on the level, and are always ready to go. I like cars where the owners have spent countless hours and dollars making them into the asphault eating beasts they are, but I appreciate the fact that, every now and again, the cars manufacturers do get something right.

You can bring the fire breathing, asphault eating monster that is your Civette, I'll meet you at the starting line in my lowly supercharged, handles-like-on-rails, used-as-pace-car, "stock" Monte, and we'll make a show outta the Bullrun - Deal?

Gotta have a few stock or close to stock vehicles to make the show interesting... nothing better than watching stock vehicles trample all over the modded out freaks of the highway (freaks = +). In THIS show it's rarely about the vehicle you bring and more about you the driver/co-driver and how bad you want to win. Just don't go EVO on us.

LOL! That's LAND YACHT to you bud, and a darn sexy one at that!!!  Never driven a lotus or STi, just been in them on the autocross - remember, I don't profess to posess the driving experience or skills, gonna let the man who has driven every muscle car from the 60's and 70's do that for me.

As for me, well, I guess I have turned right before - ever driven the number 1 in Canada through Golden BC doin 75 mile an hour, in a 79 cordoba - you think I'm worried about a dent or a scratch, just have a look at all the nuthin on the side of the road. The best part of that is that I can take those switchbacks in a LAND YACHT at those speeds , and my dad is still the better the driver! In Bullrun, all's I gotta deal with is pylons and dirt - you make a mistake on that road, and you got about 500-1000 yards to try and figure out what ya did wrong before you hit the bottom or river.

Here's what happens to all the little punks what "think" they got it under control, but end up pushing a car beyond it's limits, and just in case you are wondering, this  is one of the gas stations by the tunnels in the lower mainland

 

I haven't heard the term Land Yacht since I used it to describe my 1966 Olds Delta 88 (I don't have any more).... needed a boat license to drive that land yacht, lol... but it was a 12 second 2 and a half ton land yacht... I give old school GM props for the BB Olds... I miss my 425 Super Rocket.... *sigh*

Let me say, as someone who HAS driven highway 1 through Golden, Rogers pass, etc. It is some pretty intense roadway. The turns are so tight and quick around thr mountains and the road has to accomodate two lanes. That alone is almost suicide if a trucker decides to give himself a foot or two more of room, Then you look down and see that if you go over the edge, you plummet to your death. At some points, the drop can be over 800ft. You have to give Aimie props for driving that! I've only driven it once and it is some scary stuff. That's what you get when you live near the rocky mountains.

Just drove highway 191 in AZ and highway 152 in NM, there's a reason they refer to it as the devil's highway, constant turning, and sheer cliffs, it was a blast.
