The border crossing in 2006 was fatal! There were many teams that were not allowed to come into Canada into Toronto and had to wait until the next day when the rally came back into the United States. I do think that they should start in Canada again (like in 2007 and 2008) but that would likely decrease the number of participants in the rally due to not being able to cross the border. Though in the past when the rally has started in Canada, some teams have joined on day 2 of the rally due to not being allowed accross the border. I still think that Toronto to San Francisco (or LA) would be a great rally.
I have a feeling that East Coast dreams of Bullrun won't come to play. They seem to like the looooooooong, empty, boring roads of the West and mid West.
Chicago has to be in play this time around and there are plenty of wide open spaces south of that Town. Would be really cool if they could plan the Indy Speedway in there as well then onto some of tracks down south.

What about a run from northern-most point in contiguous US to souther-most point? So Maine to Texas.
Since they've had some rough border troubles in the past I don't think they'd do an Anchorage to LA, but that might be cool taking it all down the coast
I absoutely love Maine for cruising. The roads are great and there are some LOOOOOOOOOOOONG stretches that are hilly and scenic. Not just long and flat.
Kent Maine to Key West would rock. The 0 mile North Rt 1 to the 0 mile South Rt 1. Absolute North to absolute South.
That would so rock. Kent Maine has an old military fortress that would make a great starting point.
Look at the pictures on the NER website. There are a TON of pictures from Maine.
The cruising roads are great and the police are usually non existant until a few front runners poked the lions with sticks.
It can easily go from...
To...
There are 3 cops in this picture and there were about 9 more within the next mile.
In 2008 we had 6 people get pulled over and only 1 ticket was given. Most of us made it through by going back roads once we heard on the scanner that they were going to start stopping us for ANYTHING.
Karoline and I got followed for 30 miles on back roads by a state trooper, but I was a good boy. (Read: Listening to him on the scanner talking about us and how he was still behind the blue Nissan. A big sigh of relief when we heard "He's ok. He's not going to do anything to warant a stop. I'm heading back to the interstate")
To be honest it was a total blast though. It really gets the blood pumping wondering if you were next on their hit list.
So we know that an east-coast run is pretty much out of the question since that did that two times in the last three years. West-Coast is still open, continental divide has been done, southern states (coast to coast) is out of the question.
I still think that bullrun should either do Toronto to San Franisco or Vice-Versa
That don't really mean much though bro. They have been out this way a few times on the rally. I'm sure they will be back again as well.
I just hope the show comes out this way.
The chaos of the East coast will make for some great TV.
Yeah, they always do come back to the east coast. I'm just saying that they won't be for 2010. Those who do the rallly want some variety. The last three years have alternated between East and West. I'll bet 2010 will NOT be an east coast run since it's been done twice in the last three years.
Unless you're speaking of the reality show, they did the western states last year so they'll probably come east this time around. I'm speaking about the 2010 bullrun rally, not the reality show.

If it's route 66, I MUST find a way to participate. I've always wanted to drive Rt66. To do it with Bullrun, well, it would be unimaginable.

I have to put my vote in for the Mid-South. Texas would be great, we have more Highway than any other state in the Union, and a great variety.
We know Bullrun will not do:
LA to Miami
LA to LA
New York to LA
Montreal to Key West
Calgary to Scottsdale
New York to Austin
So we know that an east-coast run is pretty much out of the question since that did that two times in the last three years. West-Coast is still open, continental divide has been done, southern states (coast to coast) is out of the question.
