First of all, I hate dynos.... some of the most inconsistant machines I've seen.
Second of all, I hate it when companies advertise their numbers to sell a product, like a crate engine, combination, blower kit etc, because usually they're far off what they are rated at.
But if we must play..... 580hp and 600lbs of torque :-D Out of the Dart... that is my fathers lol.
My car, 180hp. My boat, 600hp (guessed). My quad, 90hp. lol
Stock was just short of 300 and I've added for sure. According to an 1/8 mile and 60 ft calculator I'm over 600HP and we all know better than that. I am probably pushin the 350-375 range. Won't be going much past that without a turbo upgrade. TQ I am sure around 400... maybe it's time to have it tested? Dyno's are questionable I agree but if a 4 wheel dyno were near me I'd probably go just to have a better idea... it's gotta be closer than a guess.
Maybe one of you guys could take an educated guess at my HP? I'm pushin a 3900 lb vehicle mid/high 12's in the quarter with a 1.7-1.75 60'. (dead on the top end) I know for sure there is more in it, just haven't gotten it tuned well enough to start upping the boost. This new tuning Code is taking time to get used to.

I would say you're being a little modest on horsepower. What gears? What tires?
I would guess around 400-420hp with a 3900lb vehicle. I have a calculator here that's pretty accurate with horsepower/weight/gears/et readings... I'll have to find it
I'm spinning the rollers again this saturday. I'm looking for a realistic +/- 450 at the rear wheels, and I REALLY want to get quadrouble digits in the torque column.. With my current mods, that should be doable. The dyno I'm using is notoriously stingy though.. The drums don't weigh enough to spool the turbos on most big diesels. So, we will see.

Gears are 3:42 front and rear of course and tranny is 700R4 (4L60). Tires are Front 275-40/17 and Rear 315-35/17 which is about 80.6" circumference and 785 rev/mile.
Currently making about 230HP or so (at the crank) and shooting for 250 to 260 with a few more mods. No, it's not much, but I'm not driving a boat, either... I already have traction issues with FWD and crappy tires.

Hmmm.. If I could take my stock HP and then take the manufactorer's advertised HP gains...
I'm with you there Diesel Monster. If i add all the power i should have gained after the mods that I made to Corvettron... ( vortex air rammer up to 22hp , bbk throttle body up to 10 hp , comp cam 20hp , power chip 15hp , entire exhaust line and dyno max muffler up to 20hp , fidanza aluminum flywheel , hi-flo injectors , upgraded spark plugs and distributor...) i should be around 330hp... but I feel like i am under 300.
They do say "up to" that many hp... not "that many" guaranteed!
I'd rather live ignorant i guess

I'm looking to get a Banks Sidewinder kit, rebuild and modify my injection pump, and a few other trinkets to give it more power, hopefully by next summer.
I also wanna get a different tranny for it. Allison has a 6-spd tranny out, but I'm trying to figure out if I could make it work with my truck. No way in hell I'm gettin rid of those 4.56s. Great for crawlin, as are the lockers.
I could always just break down and find an old First Gen Dodge Ram 12 Valve Cummins. Then my 9000 lb truck that will be lifted 6 inches and have 35s could to 12 in the quarter with the proper mods... Hmmmm....

I never really understood E85... What should I do to run it in my truck or is it even recommended? I can adjust the fueling tables and such and also have a BIN switch to change tunes at the touch of a button. Do you think it would affect boost any?
E85 provides a cooler intake charge, so it would greatly help a turbo motor... and is much cheaper than race gas or even Methanol. Down side is it's a little scarce, uses about 30-40% more fuel, it is extremely inconsitant, and seems to attact water like methanol does. I've played with it on several different things, and just decided it's not worth the pain in the arse of chasing the tune.
This is just a wild guess. My stock horsepower was 235 hp/ 245 torque. With the Charger kit, Water/Methanol Injector sys., predator comp., custom header, flowmaster duel exaust, and hopefully dyno maping and tuning I should get around 420hp/460torgue according to estimates from the auto school in Waco. I've still yet to find a 4 wheel dyno near my home though. Google seems to be confused on that.
