Paint. Which normally comes off in large big patches. Looks dirty. Yuck. Maybe solid mechanically, but sure gets a heck of a case of leprosy.

 

Yes, but there are how many GMs and other Mopars that do that to.  All but 1 of my third gen Firebirds/ Trans Ams had that issue.  Just do some paint work, and she's good as new.

Ya - don't mean to trash the car just cuza the paint, don't I have yet to see a sundance with the original paint still covering at least 75% of the car. But yer right - it's only one of many with the same issue

1990's Ford Products had aweful paint too. The pain literally ate itself from the bottom up.

Blach! The 80's and the 90's had two types of vehicles - really really good, or really really bad. The worst part of that was that you could buy a 1993 F150, absolutely love it cuz nuthin ever went wrong, then buy exactly the same vehicle, and have it fall apart when you drove it off of the lot! But ya, the paint in the 80's and actually right through to the mid 90's had quite a few issues in alot of makes and models.

And sorry Rebel, don't mean to bash too hard on the Sundance - still not sure if Plymoth was trying to make them look like the mustangs, or if Ford was trying to make mustangs look like Sundances in that era! If you find out, let me know - REALLY curious!

i knew a guy who had a bad ass sundance.   he had like a big turbo on it, and beleive it or not he would smoke some v8 cars with that little thing.    it was definetly a sleeper

Oh, i don't care if ya bash em.  I like em cause they can be sleepers, like the one Trev just mentioned.  I was just saying, there are more cars out there with paint issues than that one.  Alot more.

And I think it was Plymouth/ Dodge trying to compete in the wrong market with the Sundance.  It should have been in the sport compact segment, but they billed the V6 car as a "sports car."
