BULLRUN II (SPEED): D.E.A Ambushed & Injured!
Some of you asked why I didn't write a review for E4. I didn't write a review because I felt that it was a two part show and I wanted to wait to see E5 before I gave my view.
In E4 the front lines had been drawn. Team Avalanche and Team Evo zoomed past the entire Bullrun pack and didn't care about the time penalties that they were to receive for their transgressions. Matt had picked up another magic map and used his charm to convince 2/3's of the D.E.A. alliance to follow them down some magical road. Jason in Evo said it "Live together - Die together". Ya he didn't say it that way I did, it does sound better than his dribble. You have to agree with that. Still he knew that if they got it wrong. It was going to be bad for the cabal. Team Evo should have listened to their instinct and taken Bears advice and turned around. One member of the DEA was leading the entire pack coming up into the final check point for that leg. They then pulled over to get a bearing check and followed another road away from the final stop. That sealed them as one of the bottom teams in the challenge. Team Avalanche and Evo pulled in and when the times were added together. It put Team Dart and Team Evo as the bottom two for the leg.
Bill told Tony and Theresa that they had won the leg and could control another teams fate. They didn't hesitate they went right for Team Avalanche. This is the first time that they had been tossed into a challenge by another team and didn't like that at all. Bear offered them a friendly warning. This was an issue that was going to bite back in a extreme way later. Now if you haven't seen the E4 show stop reading now!
OK you have had your warning. This challenge was a Drive-Sprint-Drive course and was on gravel. Evo had the advantage as the car's driver had driven a baja bug once and could use his e-brake to effect some sick gravel slides. The car that was least able to run the course was the Dart being a drag vehicle. Still Paul knew his ride and could drive it to it's fullest. The wild card and would be winner was Bear. See this was dirt and the ass of that truck could be used as a whip. He was so happy with the course he was driving with one hand and laughing. He easily won the event and was emboldened by the victory. Evo on the other hand knew that they had to go balls out to even get close to Bears & Matt's time. Jason thinking with his ass again failed to listen to Paul (Team Dart)and the Bullrun stunt coordinators directions. Causing a massive failure of the radiator taking the evo out as he tried to apply the Evo's air-brakes. Now onto the Dart with a BOOM! Over and over it too met with trouble and was in need of everyone to come to it's side for a massive repair. But that needed to wait a team needed to go home and Bill wasn't going to wait for any repairs. (I heard Bill did get them a great meal that Team VW had hogged while they worked)
In that elimination toss only Jason stood on the stand as Bill tossed his friends keys to him. That left Dart to get the help of everyone to continue in the rally. Brook and Wade did what we have all come to expect from them and dived into the car. Every other team also worked to get them ready for the next leg. Well, almost everyone Team Mustang was shopping for Team Dart. They purchased winter clothes for the Wagners but VW could have used some love also. ( I feel your pain Bro's! Loved the Heater!)
That might have been the end of E4 as far as Bullrun and Speed was concerned. But it just did not seem finished in fact I feel that E5 is the other side of the same coin.
One team has been playing this race likes some master chess player. Pushing the Teams around like pawns and Bear was still feeling the sting of yesterdays event. He wasn't done talking about it and was looking for a chance to let them know it. Bear confronted Tony at the next gas stop and talk about what they had done to him. (Sorry, Team Solstice I didn't buy the "dirt & truck" angle either). Bear and Matt wanted to win the next leg bad and parked the truck on Team Solstices tailpipe the entire Leg. Matt wasn't going to even open a map this time. Which might have been a good thing after two short cuts. I guess Tony didn't like that fact he was leading a Bear to camp. So Tony started paying more attention to Bears truck in his rear view mirror than where his lovely wife was telling him to go. This rubbed Theresa a little raw and she stopped giving him directions all together. Yep, they took a Team Strange scenic route and landed in the bottom two with Elvis and Steve. Theresa wasn't none to happy about that. We heard some of the conversation. No, in car camera, Boo.

This robbed Team Avalanche of their sweet victory and doing what they had promised Team Solstice the day before. But Team Avalanche still did a little dance in a little bar celebrating their win and Bear gets tossed into the Po Po's play house. While Bear was in the play house Brook did what he did best. He lent a hand and made some calls to get Bear released. That was a decision that was going to bite Team TPI's ass.
Bear being robbed of putting Solstice in the event took Team TPI who had finished second in the leg. Bear was betting that because of the style of the upcoming challenge that they could destroy Solstice and take the win. That wasn't going to be the case. Brook took out a cone and that added a few seconds to their time. It was so close between Solstice and Camaro that that one cone was the straw that sent Brook and Wade home. Elvis and Steve drove the vet to a solid win. The alliance of Dart, Evo, Avalanche was torn into bits and Solstice had played them perfectly and still only a cone had come between them and the keys for home. But they had broken one alliance and kept the focus on Team Avalanche.
In two episodes Evo is on blocks in a New Mexico junk yard, Team Dart is being held together with tape and metal screws. Team Avalanche has become the new focus team as they head into the second half of the season. Brook and Wade the team that helped every team that faced trouble along the road was given their walking papers. Bear said that friendship isn't a good thing to have in this game. Brook and Wade proved that there was room for friendship and honor in this race and everyone will miss them for what they brought to the game.
The Bullrun is a sly sexy lady that isn't tied to anyones hip and she will disappear at a moments notice, giving her sweet affections to another team. Tony and Theresa are in her arms now. But for how long? Team Solstice is playing a great game of chess and just missed getting checkmated this go around. Will the other teams see the danger that they bring and change that focus before it is to late. Will the wild Bear who enjoys to torment other Teams be given a sedative and put down before he swipes at another team? E6 Bring it on!
