Get ready Bullrunners for some more competition, because Team United X is ready to rally! The Team United X crew is well known to the Bullrun regulars, and having rallied since 2006, they’re very familiar with how the rally works.
“In early 2005, my teammate at the time, Dorian Collier, and I had a conversation about life and how we needed to live life its fullest without regret and with passion,” Lamont said. “So, soon after that conversation I ran into an ex-Bullunner who described the event in detail and I immediately called the Bullrun offices and begged for an invitation.”
When the 2006 rally rolled around, Lamont and Dorian took the chance to rally from new York to Los Angeles. With their first Bullrun rally under their belts, they immediately began preparation for the 2007 rally. Lamont says there’s one aspect of Bullrun that keeps bringing him back.
“What’s bringing me back to Bullrun every year, in full or part is the camaraderie, the amazing people, the mind blowing cars and the ability to see corners of the country that gives me greater appreciation for this great country or ours” Lamont said.
He looks forward to meeting up with some old friends this year and meeting new ones. It’ll be great having the guys back for yet another year! In years past, they’ve gone by the name; Team Shaphrang, but this year Lamont Reeves and his crew are changing it up – in more than one way! Ever since his first rally, Lamont has been driving his Porsche 911, which he says is the ideal rally car.
“Porsche is the ultimate rally car. It’s fast, stylish, comfortable, and reliable,” Lamont said. “With that being said, we wanted to mix it up a little - so we’re bringing and Bentley Continental GT Convertible. This twin turbo, 12 cylinder, beast well be the edge we need to take home the gold in 2012!”
This year, Lamont and his crew are stepping it up! Not only are they bringing a beast of a car – one that’s both reliable and underestimated, but they’re going to be rallying with a second team.
The Team United X crew will be made up of; Lamont Reeves, Andrew Salisbury, Chris M. Salamone and JC Cordero. Lamont says he’s been rallying more for the adventure in previous years, and this time he’s ready set his sights on the prize!
“If I could say I’ve learned one thing from the previous rallies I have been on, I would say I’ve learned to never judge and book by its cover; from a car to its drivers.”
With two cars and a desire to chase down the Navigator Award this year, there’s no doubt that Team United X will be a team to keep an eye on.
